Throughout Women's History Month, we’ll shine a spotlight on the supportive stories within our own community, first through the experiences of Courtney Buycks—a valued member of the She Achieves Employee Resource Group (ERG). Courtney's journey and experience with She Achieves offers a profound glimpse into the essence of empowerment, growth, well-being, belonging, and impact—core pillars that define Achieve.

A growth journey

Courtney joined Achieve nearly seven years ago, beginning as a Debt Consultant and ultimately being promoted to Director of Achieve Resolution Sales. Her story is a testament to Achieve's commitment to growth and development, both professionally and individually. "I came into the company as a Debt Consultant and quickly learned this wasn't just another job, but I had found a home. I am now a Director of Achieve Resolution Sales where my reach can extend to hundreds of people who share my passion and desire to make this company as great as it can possibly be," Courtney recalls.

Observing Women's History Month

Women's History Month holds a special place in Courtney's heart, serving as a reminder of the trailblazers who paved the way for the opportunities women enjoy today. "It empowers me to remember I too share that same ability and with a little confidence, persistence, and fearlessness I am unstoppable! As women, through societal norms, and the way some of us were raised, we often put ourselves on the back burner, easily becoming a quiet wallflower in fear of the backlash of speaking up or having a voice. Working for a company that values our amazing community of women reminds me that my voice does matter, that I do bring value, and my thoughts have a place. That is a very empowering place to be!"

This sentiment underscores the importance of celebrating and recognizing women's accomplishments, a principle deeply ingrained in Achieve's ethos.

Rallying allyship, calling for increased inclusion & celebrating action

She Achieves, with Courtney's support, has become more than just an ERG—it's a community where women and allies come together to inspire, support, and empower. Courtney's experience with She Achieves highlights the ERG's role in fostering well-being and belonging, stating, "My experience with She Achieves has been nothing short of amazing. We always have the big events and the celebrations, but the things that fill my soul with peace and gratitude are the little moments of interaction."

This Women's History Month, She Achieves plans to honor the occasion with a Women History Lunch and a Virtual Speaking Event featuring Mona-Lee Belizaire, creator of The Visionary Woman, who'll help members create personal vision statements and talk through how to incorporate the 4Cs (clarity, consistency, confidence & community) into their lives. On her website, Belizaire talks about why a vision statement is important, stating that it serves as a guide when making decisions in all areas of an individual’s life, keeping them on track and preventing them from engaging in things that aren’t aligned with their values and vision.

These events are designed not only to celebrate but also to encourage growth, embodying the importance of driving impact through community engagement and development. Courtney's reflections serve as a clear call for uplifting women's voices and advancing gender diversity and inclusion. "Don't be afraid to extend the olive branch," she advises, highlighting the importance of allyship and collective support in creating a more dynamic environment.

The Achieve influence

Courtney's work at Achieve, particularly in aiding consumers as they navigate financial challenges, illustrates the company's commitment to having a positive overall impact. "We have the ability to affect the lives of the everyday consumer in a major way," she notes, reflecting on the profound influence her work has had on individuals, especially women in challenging situations. "Working at Achieve allows us to show them their options, to help them understand their financial situations, and ultimately give them hope that we can help them turn their bleak situations around."

Courtney's dedication to helping others, particularly women, through her role at Achieve and involvement with She Achieves, reflects the company's enthusiasm for fostering an environment of growth, well-being, belonging, and impact. "Together we can make a change. Together we can reach mountain tops we never thought possible for ourselves. Together we empowerHER each other to see greatness within ourselves and in others. There is nothing more beautiful than that!" She concludes, encapsulating the spirit of empowerment that Achieve strives to exemplify.

As we recognize Women's History Month, Courtney Buycks' story and the initiatives of She Achieves serve as inspiring examples of how companies can rally and elevate women, cultivating a space where every individual is encouraged to reach their fullest potential.
