Job Description

Job Description

As an Associate Product Manager (APM), you’ll impact the lives of everyday people and help them move from surviving to thriving with digital personal finance solutions. Behind our forward-thinking technology is a group of curious, innovative problem solvers creating next-level products backed by data and consumer-centric strategy. At Achieve, you’re encouraged to explore new technologies while working on exciting projects that directly impact our member’s success.

You’ll be responsible for supporting an AI-focused Agile development team, working directly with Product Managers to improve team effectiveness and deliver high-value AI solutions. This role serves as a stepping stone to becoming a full-fledged Product Manager, offering deep mentorship and guidance. You will hold many of the same responsibilities that Product Managers do: collecting quantitative product data and metrics, synthesizing customer research, gathering requirements, and coordinating with stakeholders.

For this specific role, you will be working in a fast-paced, cross-functional team focused on Member Retention. Your goal is to leverage AI to ensure our members stay successful in their financial journey and discover new value in Achieve’s ecosystem. Your deep interest in AI technology and your ability to connect technical capabilities to business ROI will be key to your success in this position.

This is a key role as part of our product management and engineering teams and has a direct impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of company operations. We seek an individual with highly effective communication skills, exceptional time management, and an entrepreneurial approach to leveraging AI for business growth.

What you’ll do:

  • Champion Retention AI: Dive deep into AI technologies to understand how they can be used to identify at-risk members for churn and save them.
  • Focus on ROI: Articulate the business value of AI features, ensuring every model or automation we build has a clear path to increasing retention rates and revenue.
  • Support discovery efforts and help identify opportunities for achieving positive outcomes through AI-driven information systems and non-system changes.
  • Analyze member behavior data to make data-backed recommendations for model improvements and feature enhancements that drive engagement.
  • Work with members of Product, Engineering, Data Science, Business Intelligence, and Customer Success to determine the best methods of achieving designated outcomes.
  • Author user stories that provide context and acceptance criteria for AI models, features, and enhancement requests.
  • Assist in analyzing the feasibility of new systems; ensure the system design fits the needs of the members while leveraging the latest in AI technology.
  • Assist in prioritizing stories based on estimated impact to key metrics (Retention Rate, NPS, LTV).
  • Assist with tracking and documenting changes for functional and business stories.
  • Facilitate Scrum: Schedule and run sprint ceremonies and other team-related events as necessary to keep the AI scrum team moving efficiently.
  • Communicate regular progress updates to stakeholders, translating technical AI progress into understandable business updates regarding new feature development and releases.
  • Work with the Quality Assurance (QA) team and assist with QA directly when necessary.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with internal stakeholders, validate findings, and support product owners with release-related activities.
  • Track, triage, and help resolve defects and bugs reported by users. Advice on interim operational solutions with Engineering.
  • Act as a liaison between departmental end-users, technology teams, product, and training teams.
  • Work with Business Intelligence to track impacts to target metrics and assess whether desired outcomes have been achieved.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring:

  • Passion for AI: A strong desire to grow as a Product Manager specifically within the AI/ML space. You should be eager to "look under the hood" of AI technologies.
  • Prefer 2 years of data analyst, engineering, or design experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Business, Economics, or Analytics required, OR four years of equivalent experience in a Junior Product Manager or Business Analyst role which included experience with application architectures, databases, SQL, APIs, etc.
  • Business Outcome Focus: A mindset that prioritizes business results and ROI over just "cool technology." You understand how to connect AI investments to member retention and financial results.
  • Member-Centric Experience: Prior experience with customer retention, loyalty programs, or customer success strategies is highly encouraged. You should understand what drives a customer to stay or leave.
  • Prefer someone with direct experience working closely with technology teams on improving member-facing tools, portals, or engagement applications.
  • Outcome-focused, data-driven mindset.
  • Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a complex, fast-paced, dynamic environment in which you will need to simultaneously manage multiple projects that vary in scope and complexity.
  • Ability to capture business context and acceptance criteria into a story.
  • Strong communication skills that allow you to understand the problem and outcomes needed, while being able to document and translate that to a technical team to architect the right short and long-term solutions.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and familiarity with all typical sprint ceremonies.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to develop recommendations and present findings to the product and scrum teams.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently to meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience working with the following tools is a plus: Salesforce, Customer Engagement platforms (e.g., Braze, HubSpot), Retention analytics tools, Tableau, and other reporting tools.
