Job Description

As a Compliance and Risk Analyst at Achieve, you'll play a critical role in upholding the quality and compliance of our lending operations. You'll contribute directly to our success by meticulously reviewing a sample selection of Personal Loan and Home Loan files at key stages: post-underwriting, pre-funding, and post-closing. Your work will serve as a key safeguard against potential issues. By verifying adherence to regulatory compliance and internal policies, you'll proactively identify discrepancies and support our lending teams in resolving them. This is an essential position for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

How you will contribute:

  • Executes the quality control review process for a sample selection of Personal Loan and Home Loan files at multiple stages of the loan lifecycle: post-underwriting, pre-funding, and post-closing.
  • Conducts thorough QC audits on selected loan files to ensure complete adherence to regulations, internal policies, and established procedures at each review point.
  • Regularly communicates and follows up with lending staff and management regarding identified QC issues, missing documentation, and compliance matters, driving efficient and timely resolution.
  • Monitors management's remediation efforts related to quality control findings for timely completion and effectiveness.
  • Contributes to internal reporting related to loan quality, compliance issues, and trends, providing clear and actionable insights across loan stages.
  • Identifies and escalates risks and potential issues arising from loan file reviews, proposing appropriate actions and process enhancements.
  • Assists with additional loan compliance monitoring activities as they relate to policy, procedures, and regulations.

Qualifications

What You will Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in consumer lending, with a strong focus on loan quality control, processing, servicing, or underwriting.
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of loan file review processes across various stages (underwriting, funding, closing), regulatory compliance specific to lending, and internal policy adherence.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex compliance concepts and findings clearly to all levels of an organization.
  • High degree of independent judgment, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive loan information.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple reviews and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage assignments with limited oversight and produce quality work products with minimal discrepancies.
  • A self-starter mentality, willing to take action without being asked and proactively identify areas for improvement in lending processes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively to build successful relationships across various lending departments.
  • Strong problem-solving, researching, and decision-making skills, geared toward identifying issues and driving practical solutions.
  • Experience working with changing priorities and deadlines in a dynamic and complex lending environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to robust reporting on loan quality metrics, compliance issues, and remediation progress.
  • Ability to challenge constructively, while exercising sound judgment and professionalism.
  • Familiarity with a Loan Origination System (LOS), Loan Servicing System, or a Compliance Monitoring System.
  • Proficiency in Excel for data analysis (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP) or similar data analytics tools.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Java, or Python is a plus.
