Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) Analyst. This position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive BCP and DR strategies to ensure the resilience and continuity of our critical business operations. You will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our organization against potential disruptions and ensuring prompt recovery in the event of a disaster.

Essential Functions and Tasks:

  • Develop and implement robust BCP and DR strategies aligned with organizational objectives, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and business impact analyzes to identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and critical business functions. Use the findings to inform BCP and DR planning efforts.
  • Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive BCP and DR plans, policies, and procedures to guide effective response and recovery efforts. Ensure that plans are accessible, understood, and regularly tested across the organization.
  • Develop and deliver training programs and awareness campaigns to educate employees on BCP and DR protocols, roles, and responsibilities. Foster a culture of preparedness and resilience throughout the organization.
  • Coordinate and conduct regular BCP and DR testing and exercises, including tabletop simulations, scenario-based drills, and full-scale exercises. Evaluate outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Serve as a central point of contact and lead response efforts during BCP and DR incidents. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and effective response, recovery, and restoration of critical services.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors, service providers, and stakeholders involved in BCP and DR efforts. Collaborate effectively to leverage resources and support organizational resilience.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and contractual obligations related to BCP and DR. Keep abreast of emerging threats and regulatory developments to adapt plans and strategies accordingly.
  • Provide oversight and leadership on the change management, incident response, problem management, records retention processes and standards.

 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Information Technology, or related field. 
  • 10 years of experience in business continuity planning, disaster recovery, risk management, or related roles, preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of BCP and DR principles, methodologies, and frameworks (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST SP 800-34, FFIEC IT Examination Handbook).
  • Experience developing and implementing BCP and DR plans, conducting risk assessments, and facilitating testing and exercises.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications such as CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional), CBRM (Certified Business Resilience Manager), or CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) are desirable.
