What you’ll do:
- Manage a functional team responsible for completion of accounting-control activities, such as account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close. Ensures all accounting responsibilities are completed timely, accurate, and in accordance with corporate policies
- Identify upcoming changes to US GAAP accounting standards that will be relevant to Achieve and lead the company in implementation of those standards
- Continually seek efficiency and control improvements to further capabilities and contributions. Leverage internal capabilities and external resources as needed to independently pursue opportunities to strengthen the team
- Exercise appropriate risk management of areas within span of control. Lead and/or support documentation of accounting processes consistent with corporate policies. Demonstrate expertise of responsibilities during SOX, compliance, and audit or regulatory reviews to achieve satisfactory results. Lead interactions with auditors and/or examiners in areas of responsibility
- Lead monthly variance analysis of financial statements investigating and commenting on variances
- Work closely with an offshore accounting team supporting balance sheet reconciliation process.
- Demonstrate accountability for the completion of team responsibilities performed relating to monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes. Support timely and accurate financial statement recognition of accruals, unique transactions, and accounting estimates in areas of responsibility, demonstrating scope of expertise
- Establish priorities against team, department, and/or corporate objectives. Align resources to ensure optimal deployment across people, processes, and technology. Influence staffing across team, inclusive of hiring, development, and retention. Provide performance feedback and career support to staff. Experience in leading a team with a coaching leadership style, helping team members to grow and succeed
- Work across the business to ensure all new initiatives contain adequate accounting requirements and are tested successfully to ensure no interruption to financial reporting. Identify and communicate risks to business partners while also demonstrating flexibility to support a broader scope in determining reasonable and/or negotiable requirements.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting
- CPA required (active or inactive status)
- Experience with Oracle Fusion or other major ERP tool
- Advanced knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606, ASC 842 and CECL
- 5+ years’ experience of leading a team, with a coaching style of leadership
- Strong experience in both private and public accounting
- Strong analytical skills and a detail orientated personality
- Ability to problem solve, work independently and multi-task in fast-paced environment
- Exceptional project and time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Salary Range: $140,000 to $155,000 annually + bonus + benefits. This information represents the expected salary range for this role. Should we decide to make an offer for employment, we'll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
