Job Description

The Mortgage Processing Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the mortgage processing team to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant processing of residential mortgage loans. This role is responsible for supervising mortgage processors, managing workflow, resolving escalated issues, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies. The ideal candidate will bring leadership, mortgage industry knowledge, and a customer-focused mindset to support successful loan closings.

What you’ll do:

  • Supervise and lead a team of mortgage loan processors, including training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Monitor daily processing activities to ensure loan files are completed efficiently and in compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
  • Review and resolve escalated loan file issues and ensure timely communication with underwriters, loan officers, and customers.
  • Collaborate with other departments including underwriting, closing, and compliance to ensure a smooth and timely loan pipeline.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and investor regulations, including TRID, RESPA, and other applicable guidelines.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mortgage products, investor guidelines, and regulatory changes.
  • Generate and analyze processing metrics and reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of mortgage loan processing experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage lending guidelines (FHA, VA, FNMA, FHLMC).
  • Proficiency in mortgage loan origination systems (LOS) and document management software.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of accuracy.

What you need to know:

  • This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days in our Tempe office.
  • Standard business hours with occasional overtime and weekends during peak periods.
